Andiamo Steakhouse

There was a lot of excitement for some new blood on Fremont Street when Fitzgerald’s was reopened as The D in late 2012. While much of the attention was focused on the casino and hotel, steak lovers were looking to the first Las Vegas outpost of Michigan favorite Andiamo Steakhouse. Great steak should be expected but they have some of the best seafood that you’re going to find anywhere in Las Vegas. The service is similar to top notch service you’d expect at a steakhouse on the Vegas Strip. The best part is that all of this comes with a smaller check than you’d pay on the Vegas Strip.

Hugo’s Cellar

Hugo’s Cellar is one of the most famed but not famous restaurants in Las Vegas. Walking into the restaurant is almost like stepping into a time machine when it comes to atmosphere, decor and service. Hugo’s has an environment that you won’t elsewhere in Las Vegas. This is a cellar(ish) concept and you actually walk down a few stairs into the restaurant. You are then walked to your table by a host wearing a tuxedo. All women are greeted with a long-stemmed red rose. In true old Vegas fashion every salad is prepared table side. You’re visiting Hugo’s Cellar for a great meal but you’ll walk away with the memory of a unique atmosphere you may never experience anywhere else.

Oscar’s Steakhouse

This steakhouse at the Plaza is heavily influenced by former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman. Located on the second floor of the Plaza this restaurant has views looking into the Fremont Street Experience across the street. Everything from design of the restaurant to the “broads” (the restaurant’s tagline is “Beef, Booze, Broads”) to the dishes is a throwback to old Las Vegas. The food and service is what you’d expect expect from a high end steakhouse. Start your steak adventures with the Filet Mignon and spread your steak wings as you return for more.

Vic & Anthony’s

Vic & Anthony’s comes at you with the atmosphere you’d expect from a traditional high end steakhouse. Don’t let the fact that this is a chain restaurant dissuade you from enjoying one of the best steaks you’ll find in Downtown Las Vegas. The steaks may be delicious but the most talked about dish on the menu might be the duck fat potatoes. It’s true, duck fat makes everything better. Beyond the quality of the food, one of the things that really sets Vic & Anthony’s is their Distinctive Dining Deal. This $50 3 course (plus individual side order) prix fixe menu is only available in their Las Vegas and Atlantic City locations.

Triple George

Technically Triple George isn’t a high end steakhouse but they sure do have some great steak dishes. This is a San Francisco style bar, grill and chophouse. The difference in type of restaurants shouldn’t cloud the fact that Triple George has some of the best steaks in Downtown Las Vegas. The steaks are grilled and you can taste the smoke and char from the process. You have a nice selection of cocktails and wine since Triple George is also a bar. Since this isn’t considered a high end steakhouse, you’re not tagged with high end steakhouse prices – just great steak.
